Weldroid is the 8-bit emulation of an electrical engineer, a cgi artist and a coffee connoisseur merged into one person and left alone in the middle of a forest in the middle of a forgotten peninsula built of discarded and ancient electronic devices and lots of copper wire.
In the shadowed laboratories of Weldroid a new creation emerges, not merely an album, but a spectral collage forged across hidden intervals. But these tones were not born in darkness, but guided by the flickering silver screen: spice-filled winds of distant desert worlds, neon-soaked sleepless cities of tomorrow, the intrigue of feudal Japan. Visual masterpieces on their own right, yet devoid of sound, waiting for a new sonic assault to fill the air with vibration. Each pulse, each dissonant hymn is a thread stitched to the fabric of stories told by orchestrated dance of photons.
Here the vibrations take over, it is the rhythm steering the vision, the sound telling the story. Only the alchemy of solitude: dismantling celluloid dreams, then weaving them anew through analog whispers and digital reverie. Oscillators, filters, modulation rule, dialogue becomes unimportant, landscapes are formed to the bass, mountains are eroded by distortion. A new symbiosis is created between sound and light, two phantoms in a mirrored labyrinth.
It is resurrection. A clandestine dialogue between the seen and the unheard, where the reel’s ghost dances, half-alive, in the machine’s hum.
"Weldroid always brings something distinctive to Mahorka's electronic music community, blending synthetic ambient textures with bit-crushed rhythms to craft immersive, emotionally resonant soundscapes. Despite the android-inspired name and cyberspace-inflected themes, his work pulses with a paradoxically human touch. On Painted City, cinematic influences take center stage as Weldroid reimagines seven original soundtracks from scratch—tabula rasa—allowing intuition and interpretation to shape each piece anew. The result is a series of vivid, digitized visions that carry real emotional weight. As always, the album arrives encased in a hand-crafted visual design, completing a densely packed, multimedia tour de force."
